Founded in 2018, Gift of Grace Montessori offers an experience for children and a community for families that can be hard to find these days. We employ a combination of the Montessori method (updated for today's times) and a more traditional style. You will find that the teacher utilizes the necessary tools for teaching each child in the way he/she learns best, whether it be Montessori or more traditional ways. There is a conscious effort to design our classroom as a “children’s house,” making it as comfortable and inviting as a home. The classroom is an atmosphere of calm, order, and joy as children ages four through six learn together.

Our peaceful classroom environment features a brightness that inspires, and is constructed just for the children’s use - maximizing independence, community, and exploration. Gift of Grace Montessori is intentionally small and diverse. Children follow their interests along paths that the teacher designs to ensure students are mastering core subjects and developing socially and emotionally. We are proud to partner with Kindermusik to offer ABC Music and Me classes.

During the day, children at Gift of Grace Montessori will have uninterrupted work time in the classroom where they are free to choose work they have already had presentations on and repeat that work for as long as they desire during the work period. There are six main areas in the classroom: practical life, sensorial development, language, mathematics, art and culture/sciences. Children are offered presentations individually or in small groups by the teacher. The children prepare their own snacks, eat lunch communally, care for their environment, and explore the outdoors together.

Our fenced outdoor area and surrounding natural grounds emphasize play in the natural world with materials for gardening, sand play, and nature-based creative construction. Frequent community walks, and visits and activities with our grand-friends at Vineyard Assisted Living make Gift of Grace a truly unique and one-of-a-kind environment for young children.

There is nothing more beautiful and hope instilling than seeing children developing the confidence and self-esteem as they engage in the meaningful and self selected work in the Montessori environment. As Maria Montessori observed, children will teach us if we just observe and listen.
