As the owner and teacher of Gift of Grace Montessori, I would like to extend a warm-hearted welcome. I am delighted that you are considering becoming a part of a community of families and friends at Gift of Grace. I am a wife, a mother of two teenage boys, a passionate educator, and follower of Jesus Christ. It has been a dream of mine to open a small, Montessori-inspired hybrid school with the vision of helping children live every moment with love, grace and gratitude.
At Gift of Grace, we celebrate our name for a multitude of reasons. First, we acknowledge God's grace and the gift he freely gives all of us. In that spirit, "grace" is how we treat our children - loving each child just as they are and valuing each for the unique gifts they bring. Last, but certainly not least, “Grace" pays tribute to my maternal grandmother, Grandma Grace, a woman who loves and guides our family with passion and authenticity. A woman who inspires me with her artistic creativity, enthusiasm, integrity, patience, faith, and a heart for children.
I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with an Early Childhood specialization from Western Michigan University. I also hold a diploma from an internationally recognized Montessori teacher training program. I have over 20 years of teaching experience in both public elementary and private school settings.
Choosing a school program that is right for your child is overwhelming. Simply put, education isn't a one-size fits all endeavor. Every child has unique and special interests, needs and talents, and the childhood years are an important time of discovery and growth for all.
God has taken my heart and mind on a new learning journey, guiding me to reimagine what has already been created. A hybrid microschool model that blends the 'best of both worlds,' drawing out the top elements of private/public school and homeschooling. To modernize the past. To add in the future.
I believe the right school has many benefits. It is comprehensive, academically robust. flexible, experiential, balanced, wholesome, beautiful.
I re-branded Gift of Grace Montessori from a preschool that I founded in 2018, to a hybrid one-room schoolhouse serving Young 5's - Lower Elementary aged children. I wanted to create something different - a unique hybrid schooling option for families and the community.
A school that is comfortable and inviting as a home, a peaceful atmosphere of calm, order, and joy where multi-ages learn together.
A school where learning differences, learning styles, strengths, weaknesses, and fundamental child development are honored.
Most importantly, a school that honors these educational value...leadership skills, mentorships, teamwork, diversity, compromise, cooperation, and adaptivity.
Please explore the website and feel free to call or send an email if you would like additional information.
