As the owner and teacher of Gift of Grace Montessori, I would like to extend a warm-hearted welcome. I am delighted that you are considering becoming a part of a community of families and friends at Gift of Grace Montessori. I am a wife, a mother of two teenage boys, a passionate early childhood educator, and follower of Jesus Christ. It has been a dream of mine to open a small, Montessori-inspired school with the vision of helping children live every moment with love, grace and gratitude.

At Gift of Grace Montessori, we celebrate our name for a multitude of reasons. First, we acknowledge God's grace and the gift he freely gives all of us. In that spirit, "grace" is how we treat our children - loving each child just as they are and valuing each for the unique gifts they bring. Last, but certainly not least, “Grace" pays tribute to my maternal grandmother, Grandma Grace, a woman who loves and guides our family with passion and authenticity. A woman who inspires me with her artistic creativity, enthusiasm, integrity, patience, faith, and a heart for children.

I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with an Early Childhood specialization from Western Michigan University. I also hold a diploma from an internationally recognized Montessori teacher training program. I have over 20 years of teaching experience in both public and private school settings at the PreK - second grade levels.

Fostering a love of learning in our children is the central theme that guides our thoughts and actions at Gift of Grace Montessori. Children are curious by nature and they love to explore. We strive to constantly create an environment that keeps this joy of discovery kindled. As educators, we observe them through their developmental stages, guide them during these most important stages of their growth, and watch them grow in God's love and grace.

Throughout the school year, we invite parents to come share their talents and backgrounds with our children to help in further broadening their world view. We encourage, cultivate, and enjoy this interaction. As Dr. Maria Montessori said, “The essential thing is to stimulate such an interest that it engages the child’s whole personality.”
